A few years ago, HGTV's Mission:Organization with its ever lovely host, Gail O'Neill came to Atlanta and Kim Banta got a craft room makeover! Here are the 'before' pictures...
These are the 'after' pictures...
In about four weeks, we completely transformed the room, literally from top to bottom. First we did a serious de-clutter, sort and organize. Then we added new flooring, new paint colors on the walls and ceiling and we installed a Solatube solar light fixture in the ceiling to bring in the natural light from outside. We added custom cabinetry and storage furniture from The Container Store to house what remained of Kim's crafting supplies. We created distinct zones in the room for sewing, digital photography and computer work, and a chill-out area with a tv and comfy chairs.
Recently I stopped by Kim's house to chat with her about the TV makeover process, what she learned, and how she's been able to maintain her success since the show originally aired. Her interview is below. You can see this and all my other video on my YouTube channel.
